About Brian
Born in Ireland, Brian and his family made San Mateo County their home in 1983. A graduate of Serra High School, Brian continued his education at the University of San Francisco, where he earned both his undergraduate and law degrees.
Inspired by his mother Margaret, a lifelong public servant whose career culminated as San Mateo’s Deputy City Treasurer, Brian has dedicated his own career to serving our community. For over 20 years, he has worked tirelessly as a San Mateo County Deputy District Attorney, protecting victims and seeking justice in the county.

Inspired by his mother Margaret, a lifelong public servant whose career culminated as San Mateo’s Deputy City Treasurer, Brian has dedicated his own career to serving our community. For over 20 years, he has worked tirelessly as a San Mateo County Deputy District Attorney, protecting victims and seeking justice in the county. Brian has successfully prosecuted some of San Mateo County’s most serious cases—including attempted murder, rape, kidnapping, domestic violence, and home invasion robbery—and has taken more than 50 jury trials to verdict in our county.
In addition to his distinguished legal career, Brian proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserve for 24 years, retiring in 2020 with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. His exemplary service in Iraq earned him the Bronze Star.
Brian is deeply committed to our community, not only as a prosecutor and veteran but also as a husband and father. He and his wife, Susan, who also served nearly 18 years in public service at a Bay Area court, live in San Mateo County with their two children, both currently in high school.
With a lifelong commitment to justice, integrity, and public service, Brian is running for judge to ensure fairness, compassion, and safety throughout San Mateo County.
